Christian Slater’s Vote Was Not Counted

On November 6, the man we will always think of as the male lead in Heathers showed up to his Miami-Dade polling place and spent four hours in line  just to learn that he wasn't registered to vote, despite having ticked that box when applying for a driver's license. Finally, Slater — who chronicled the entire saga via Twitter — was issued a provisional ballot and triumphantly declared to his 40,000 followers: "I voted!!!!!" Or so he thought! Today, the actor posted a letter from election officials later notifying him — or, rather, Christina D. Slater — that his/her ballot had been voided because his/her signature didn't match his/her voter registration record. Don't they mean autograph?
