Watch Shoshanna Try to Counsel Jessa in a Deleted Scene From Girls’ Season One

The holidays have a lot in common with Girls: depression, body-image issues, binge drinking, come-to-Jesus moments (both literal and figural), and awkward visits to your hometown complete with uncomfortable discussions about your future with your parents. So it is the perfect time for the Emmy-nominated first season of the Lena Dunham–led HBO series to make its DVD and Blu-ray debut (available Dec. 11, tiding you over until season two begins on Jan. 13). And Vulture has a deleted scene to share with you.

The following excised clip from the “Vagina Panic” episode finds Shoshanna trying to comfort cousin Jessa pre-abortion, but per usual the idolizing cousin can only remain a mature adult on a sensitive subject for so long. The clip, along with several other deleted or extended scenes, a gag reel, cast auditions, table reads, and commentary from Dunham and executive producer Judd Apatow can be found on the Blu-ray edition. (The DVD will not include many of the features, including the deleted scenes and gag reel.)
