Jonathan Demme has departed from Stephen King’s time-travel/JFK-assassination novel 11/22/63, one of many long-gestating King projects optioned by a sizable talent. “I loved certain parts of the book for the film more than Stephen did,” says Demme, who optioned the novel more than a year ago. “We’re friends, and I had a lot of fun working on the script, but we were too apart on what we felt should be in and what should be out of the script.” We still have Under the Dome, Constant Readers …
