"He gets a movie green-lit, more than most people," a studio president recently told Vulture of Bradley Cooper. "Maybe not any movie, but a $30 million thriller or action movie? Definitely." And like clockwork, Warner Bros. just set up an adaptation of the forthcoming Howard Blum novel Dark Invasion; it's being developed for Cooper, who'll also produce. The book, coming this September, is "a true spy thriller set in 1915 when Germany, with war raging in Europe and the U.S. still neutral, decides to send their Secret Service to America to wage a covert war to keep this country from helping the Allies." Cooper will play NYPD Capt. Tom Tunney, the good guy.
