Last year, Stephen Colbert teased throwing his hat into the ring for a Senate seat in South Carolina, but now it looks like his sister is the one getting involved in politics in his home state. Patch reports that Elizabeth Colbert-Busch, who currently serves as Director of Sales and Marketing for Clemson University’s Wind Turbine Drivetrain Testing Facility, is planning on Tuesday to file papers to seek the Democratic nomination for a vacant South Carolina Congressional seat. Colbert-Busch is a mother of three and grandmother of two and has never sought public office before. Hopefully, she’ll be able to convince a certain basic cable fake news show host to give her some airtime.
