‘The Office’s Ellie Kemper Might Star in the NBC Pilot ‘Brenda Forever’

Ellie Kemper is circling a new project that could end up being her next job once The Office goes off the air in May. Deadline reports that Kemper has had informal talks with NBC about starring in a new pilot called Brenda Forever and that she’s interested in the lead role. Kemper has become an in-demand actress in both TV and film, having recently played supporting roles in Bridesmaids and 21 Jump Street and guest starred in The Mindy Project and NTSF:SD:SUV. Locking the busy actress down to the lead role in a new show would be a major coup for NBC. Written by Andrew Leeds and David Lampson, the script rights for Brenda Forever ended up at NBC after a competitive bidding war with Fox. Peter Tolan (Rescue Me, Larry Sanders Show) is producing. Brenda Forever takes place in two time periods, following a character named Brenda as both a 31-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl. Try to guess which one Ellie Kemper is interested in playing.
