A few months after ordering up a James Gandolfini-starring legal drama called Criminal Justice, HBO has given the pilot a thanks but no thanks. The show was written by Richard Price (The Color Of Money) and directed by Steven Zaillian, the Oscar-winning screenwriter behind Schindler’s List and Moneyball. Gandolfini played “a disheveled jailhouse lawyer” in the adaptation of a 2008 British series. Meanwhile, HBO recently announced it’s moving forward with Damon Lindelof’s take on Tom Perrotta’s The Leftovers.
