Showtime’s hourlong drama pilot The Vatican, Ridley Scott’s first TV directing gig since the sixties, has cast England’s Matthew Goode (Watchmen, A Single Man) as a co-star. Goode will play papal secretary Bernd Koch, “the pope’s closest confidante, who has a very powerful perch within the inner circle of the Vatican.” Paul Attanasio (Quiz Show, Donnie Brasco) wrote the pilot.
