Last night’s Costume Designers Guild Awards honored extraordinary work in both television and film. On the movie side, designers for Skyfall, Anna Karenina, and Mirror Mirror all took home awards, and on the TV side, designers for Downton Abbey, American Horror Story, and Smash did. Once again, Smash’s costumes won an award. You might think that award was for Scarfiest or Most Schmata-y or Outstanding Achievement in Featuring Megan Hilty’s Breasts, but it was actually for Contemporary Television Series. It’s a world gone mad, cupcakes.
