[Spoiler alert for those who haven't seen Sunday's episode.] There were probably some who were bummed and some who were pumped that Merle died on last week's The Walking Dead. One strong supporter of the decision was Michael Rooker, the man who played him. When Entertainment Weekly asked him how he reacted to learning his character would be killed, he responded: "My honest to God true reaction was THANK F—ING GOD I DON’T HAVE TO WEAR THAT STUPID F—ING ARM ANY MORE! THERE!" Adding, "Oh my God, I was so tired of wearing that thing. I was like, oh, God, not another season of wearing this thing. I’m going to go crazy!" It was probably for the best — God knows what a "crazy" Michael Rooker would be like.
