Idina Menzel is reprising her role on Glee, according to Lea Michele. “So excited to have my mama back!” Michele tweeted last night. Menzel plays Rachel’s biological mother Shelby, a coach of a rival show choir (from back when Rachel was in high school lo those many weeks ago), and the adoptive mother of Puck and Quinn’s daughter Beth. Remember that whole plot debacle? Oy. Anyway, maybe Shelby comes back to advise Rachel during her own pregnancy crisis, which will obviously end in a miscarriage, because come on, what else is Glee going to do, have some kind of musical montage about abortion rights? Actually, now we are genuinely hoping for Ryan Murphy Presents: Your Body, Your Business! A Musical Tribute to Reproductive Freedom.
