Keegan-Michael Key Joins Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair’s USA Pilot

Keegan-Michael Key, one of the stars of Comedy Central’s Key & Peele, has joined the cast of a new USA Network pilot from Best Friends Forever stars/creators Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair. The untitled single-camera show, which has received a pilot presentation (a.k.a. short pilot) order from USA, stars St. Clair as a career-driven woman named Emma helping her best friend Maggie (Parham) raise her new baby. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Key will play a supporting role as a Mark, a police officer whose proposal Emma turned down when they were 23. Brad Morris (Cougar Town) and Zach Woods (The Office) have also joined the cast. It’s not known whether Keegan-Michael Key will stay with the show if it gets picked up, as he’s committed to Key & Peele, which Comedy Central recently renewed for a third season. But if Paul Scheer, Nick Kroll, and Fred Armisen can all balance doing two shows at once, I don’t see why Key wouldn’t be able to.
