Morrissey’s Health Issues Lead to Retirement Warnings

Morrissey's health issues forced him to delay a string of concerts and eventually cancel part of his North American tour, but now it sounds a little more serious. Speaking to the Mexican radio station Reactor 105.7, the 53-year-old Smiths front man said his bleeding ulcer, pneumonia, and a throat condition called Barrett's esophagus kept him hospitalized for five weeks. Now he's been advised to play it safe and retire. "I have been cautioned to, but it's difficult for me because it's very ingrained in me," he says.
