Done deal. "My mind is blown," Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas tells EW of the Mars movie's Kickstarter page reaching its $2 million goal in less than eleven hours. "I’ve been fantasizing about this taking big and had to tell myself, 'Stop it, Rob, you’re being silly. You’re setting yourself up for disappointment.' And now today has exceeded the wildest pipe dream I let myself entertain. Holy cow. We better make a good movie." The page crept toward $2.2 million as this post was written, and the fundraising will ostensibly continue for another month. One person has donated $10,000 or more; three people have donated $8,000 or more; 100 people have pledged $1,000 or more. "I knew Veronica Mars fans were cool, but I had no idea they could rally with such power," says Kristen Bell. "They are unstoppable — just like Veronica. I will have a permanent blush on my face, feeling so lucky to be associated with this entire thing." Now's a perfect time for Thomas, Bell, and everyone else involved to peruse Vulture's tidy list of recommendations for the film. Also a good time to re-watch the whole show's three-season run, which is doable over at the WB's site.
