The Walking Dead's recently ousted showrunner Glen Mazzara has lined up his next gig. He's writing The Overlook Hotel, Warner Bros.' planned prequel to The Shining, Deadline reports. We all totally want a Shining prequel, right? When the idea for a possible prequel came up last year, it sounded like the movie would be about the Torrances before they moved into the Overlook — which is by far the least interesting part of the story to follow. (Perhaps Mazzara will ditch that plan.) Stephen King himself has a Shining sequel coming out later this year, which is about an all-grown-up Danny Torrance, and Room 237 just taught America what the movie is really about, so we're quickly approaching maximum Shining-ness. All twins have become terrifying, all elevators possible sources of blood tsunamis, and all rug patterns are clear indicators of conspiracy theories.
