Last Night on Late Night: LL Cool J Admits ‘Accidental Racist’ Isn’t Perfect, Brings Up Trayvon

Last night on the Tonight Show, LL Cool J tempered his ongoing support of his controversial track “Accidental Racist” with an admission: “The song wasn’t perfect.” He explained to Jay Leno, “You can’t fit 300 or 400 years of history in a three- or four-minute song … However, when you think about a kid like Trayvon Martin and think about some of the things that happen in society based on clothing, when you put it in its proper context, it makes sense.” Plus: Charlie Sheen visited the Warner Bros. studio for the first time since his Two and a Half Men saga for his interview on Conan, and he waxed nostalgic about his period of carefree security check-ins. Although it probably didn’t help that he arrived with a military tank and two scantily clad women. Also, Tom Cruise delivered dramatic movie-star interpretations of Jimmy Kimmel’s mundane one-liners, and Vince Vaughn remains mum on a possible Anchorman 2 cameo.
