After Chris Pratt, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is continuing its streak of hiring actors from beloved TV shows by casting The Walking Dead’s Michael Rooker. He’ll play Yondu, an expert hunter and tribesman of the first planet outside of Earth’s solar system colonized by humans. He eventually helps form the Guardians. Oddly enough, for a time Yondu also operated without a right hand, just like Rooker’s Merle. Is this why he got the part? It’s hard to say, but it couldn’t have hurt (unlike the metal arm itself — as Rooker has said, that thing hurt like hell).
