John Williams a Tentative Yes for Star Wars VII

A few months ago, John Williams was kinda vague about doing music for the new Star Wars movies, but now director J.J. Abrams says things are looking pretty good for the composer to return for at least the first film in the franchise revival. “For Star Wars it’s very early days to know, but I believe that going forward, John Williams will be doing that film,” Abrams said at a Star Trek panel yesterday. “He was there long before I was.” Obivously Williams is essential, etc., but he did the music for Episodes I, II, and III, too, so it’s not like those bah-bah-bahs are a panacea. (They are great, though. Bah-bah-bah, buh-bah-bah, buh-bah-bah. That’s the Darth Vader song.)
