Following a BBC report that Lucasfilm executives met with Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne to discuss producing Star Wars: Episode VII film across the pond, HD Room confirms that that’s what’s happening. Portions of the previous six films were shot in Britain, and new Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy told the AP that she’s pleased to be sticking to the routine by “revisiting the origins of Star Wars.” Though Michael Arndt is already hard at work on the screenplay and director J.J. Abrams is focusing nearly all of his attention on the movie now that Star Trek: Into Darkness has wrapped, the message boards will still have to wait until 2015 to see the next installment, which means that there’s more than enough time for rampant speculation and anticipation for the “big whoop-de-do” casting announcement.
