If you are even vaguely aware of the 90s, you have probably heard of Daria. If not, let me fill you in: Daria Morgendorffer and her dysfunctional family moves from Beavis and Butthead’s town of Highland to Lawndale, leaving Daria with just as many idiots but slightly better animation. She’s joined on her sardonic journey through high school by the eternally artsy Jane Lane and the whole lot of archetypal high school classmates, from the ditz and the jock to the obnoxious younger sibling. Created by Glenn Eichler (National Lampoon, Beavis and Butthead, The Colbert Report), Daria is a hilarious show that has definitely stood the test of time. If the 90s nostalgia isn’t enough to sell you (several proclamations of “remember when MTV was this good?” are almost required), the price might: the entire series is available on Amazon for under $25.
