Paul Feig Took the Local Commercial/Ronald McDonald Path to Fame

By

Bridesmaids and Freaks and Geeks director Paul Feig dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to promote his upcoming buddy cop comedy, The Heat. Proving yet again that there’s no typical path to Hollywood success, he talked about his first gig — writing, directing, and starring in commercials for his dad’s army surplus store in Detroit, which were heavily influenced by his love of Steve Martin. He also gets in a bit of physical comedy as he recounts his early days as a Ronald McDonald; after the jump, the story of his close escape from a mob of candy-crazed children.
