This Week in Comedy: The Lonely Island’s New Album, and John Oliver’s Debut as ‘Daily Show’ Host

-The Lonely Island released their third album, entitled The Wack Album, and we talked to them about it.

-John Oliver took over as summer fill-in host for The Daily Show, and is doing a really good job.

-Tenacious D announced a killer line-up of comedy musicians for the first-ever Festival Supreme in October. The line-up includes Bob Odenkirk and David Cross, The Mighty Boosh, Maya Rudolph, Adam Sandler, and tons more.

-We interviewed Deon Coleex-Conan writer and host of TBS’s Black Box; newly-minted Comedy Central stand-ups Ben Kronberg and Andy Haynes; and NYC comedian and shit-starter Kurt Metzger.

-We analyzed the roles of prejudice and stereotyping in the careers of comedians like Dave Chappelle, Tina Fey, and more.

-IFC renewed Portlandia for two more seasons and Conan’s Brian McCann moved to Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell .

-We reviewed a few episodes of the new Arrested Development, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s This Is the End, and the short-lived NBC summer burn-off Save Me.
