Longtime Daily Show host Jon Stewart is taking his first-ever hiatus from the late night fake news series after tonight’s episode. The show will be Stewart’s last for three months, during which he’ll be directing his first movie, the geopolitical prison drama Rosewater starring Gael García Bernal, which he also wrote. Tonight’s episode does not have a guest, but will presumably feature an appearance from veteran correspondent John Oliver, who will be stepping in as the show’s temporary summer host beginning Monday. Jon Stewart is set to return to work on September 3rd, probably with a big ol’ director’s beard.
