Last night was John Oliver’s first episode hosting The Daily Show, while Jon Stewart spends the summer directing a movie, and he had a smooth and funny transition into the anchor’s seat. Oliver masterfully covered the NSA wiretapping scandal, interviewed Seth Rogen, and did a fun bit in which the other correspondents joined him to talk about how jealous they are he got to take over for Jon Stewart. It should be an enjoyable summer for The Daily Show if Oliver’s stint as host continues to go this well.
