Time for your mid-afternoon heartwarming. The Spectacular Now is a coming-of-age rom-dramedy, adapted from a novel by Tim Tharp, directed by Smashed helmer James Ponsoldt, and written by 500 Days of Summer's Scott Neustadter and Michael H. It was a hit at Sundance, garnering acting awards for both Teller and Woodley. Also, Brie Larson, Kyle Chandler, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead co-star, which is good news all around. It's set to open in theaters on August 2. See you in the spectacular then.
