Actress Eileen Brennan, 80, died Sunday after losing her fight with bladder cancer. Her most famous role was as the drill captain who gleefully tortured Goldie Hawn’s high-maintenance title character in Private Benjamin. But she was also Mrs. Peacock in Clue, and Texas waitress Genevieve in 1971’s The Last Picture Show. Benjamin earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and she went on to play the same role in the movie’s TV adaption, which earned her a Golden Globe.
