Fiona Apple’s video for “Hot Knife” from last year’s album The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do dropped overnight. It’s directed by ex-boyfriend Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood, The Master) and does a wonderful job of visualizing the the song’s layered vocals. This is that video:
But “Hot Knife” isn’t their first music video team-up. They first worked together on the video for “Across the Universe,” Apple’s cover of the Beatles song for the Pleasantville soundtrack.
