Here is a small, barely silver lining for the cancellation of Happy Endings: Damon Wayans Jr. is now free to return to New Girl. Wayans — who played the original third roommate, Coach, on New Girl’s pilot, and was re-cast when Happy Endings began — is apparently in talks for a major season-three arc. Does this mean Nick and Jess are sharing a room now, and there’s a spare in the apartment? That sounds like a disaster (in a funny way, probably).
