The Hollywood Reporter writes that Disney is working on a live-action reboot of The Jungle Book. So far they just have the bare necessities for the reboot: intention and a writer (Justin Marks, who wrote an early draft of the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea reboot and wrote The Raven, which Mark Wahlberg is producing). Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book stories are in public domain, and Warner Bros. is also working on its own version written by Steve Kloves, who previously adapted many of the Harry Potter books. But come on, this is Disney, the OG Jungle Book–ers. Hell, the 1967 animated version was the last film Walt Disney produced, as he passed away mid-production. And if you're not currently humming the tune of "I Wanna Be Like You," you're doing life wrong. Let's all have a summer scatting battle tonight!
