We were supposed to have seen 47 Ronin by now. It was first scheduled for a November 2012 release, before being pushed back to February 2013. Now it is set for Christmas Day. Will you see it with your whole family? That depends on your taste for dragon-people and Keanu Reeves with shoulder-length hair. The film is based on the true story of 47 masterless samurai who avenged their former leader’s honor in eighteenth-century Japan, but also features many fantastical elements (weird-faced villains, ghouls, giant animals, shoulder-length hair). In case it wasn’t clear, it is not a sequel to 27 Dresses.
