The CW network’s choice to reboot the short-form improv game show Whose Line Is It Anyway? turned out to be a smart one. The back-to-back premiere episodes that aired last night earned surprisingly high ratings. The show got a 1.1 rating for adults 18-49 (meaning that an estimated 1.1% of households with TVs were watching). That doesn’t sound like a lot of viewers, but the show scored a bigger audience than any original show for NBC or ABC this summer and was The CW’s highest-rated premiere since its series Arrow last fall. If these ratings keep, I wouldn’t be surprised if The CW renewed Whose Line for the regular broadcast season instead of for the summer.
