Dave Attell to Host a Late Night Standup Show for Comedy Central

Dave Attell is coming back to Comedy Central. The cable network has ordered eight half-hour episodes of a new uncensored late night standup show that Attell will host, featuring him and other comedians, Variety reports. In addition to that, Comedy Central has greenlit a new hour-long standup special from Attell, his first since 2007’s Captain Miserable. Both the standup series and the new special are expected to debut in 2014.

Attell is best known for hosting the cult hit late night show Insomniac on Comedy Central from 2001 to 2004. Following that, he hosted the network’s short-lived revival of The Gong Show in 2008 and then jumped to Showtime for his retro smut show Dave’s Old Porn, which was canceled this spring.
