Eddie Pepitone Is Leaving ‘The Long Shot’ to Start His Own Podcast

On today’s episode of the podcast The Long Shot, comedian Eddie Pepitone announced he’s leaving the show. Started in early 2010, The Long Shot has been hosted by Sean Conroy, Amber Kenny, Jamie Flam, and Pepitone for its entire run, but he’s departing to start his own show. “I’ve wanted to do my own podcast for a while,” Pepitone, who was recently the subject of the critically-acclaimed documentary The Bitter Buddha, explained. “I really have loved doing this podcast … But I feel like I just want to dedicate myself to doing my own thing.” His new podcast will, like The Long Shot, be a part of the All Things Comedy network and is expected to launch in early September. Pepitone says he’s planning on calling his new podcast Pep Talks with The Bitter Buddha, Eddie Pepitone, but he’ll probably change the name considering the lambasting Sean Conroy gave him when he mentioned that title. There’s no word on what the future holds in store for The Long Shot post-Pepitone.
