There’s going to be another The Inbetweeners movie. Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, creators of the beloved UK TV series about the trials and tribulations of four averagely-popular teenagers, released a statement confirming the sequel today. The Inbetweeners ran on E4 for three seasons from 2008 to 2010 and spawned The Inbetweeners Movie, which became a smash hit with the biggest opening of any UK comedy ever when it was released in 2011.
In a statement announcing the sequel, Morris and Beesley said, “Frankly, it’s pathetic how much we’ve all missed each other. A new chapter in the lives of The Inbetweeners feels like the very least we can do to thank the fans for their phenomenal response to the first movie.” The sequel, which will see the return of all four lead actors, is expected to shoot later this year.
