Comedians doing standup on Virgin America flights is a real thing that’s going to happen. The Telegraph reports that the airline will begin offering live entertainment on planes his month on domestic flights in the UK. Comedians on the way to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival will be testing material on Virgin flights, you know, while passengers are trapped at 30,000 feet. They’ll also be introducing live music in September. Dame Sir Richard Branson says the move is an effort to “shake up domestic flying in the UK.” Unlike an in-flight movie, however, you can’t really opt out of watching a comedian who’s performing right there on the plane, so expect this to be a thing that Virgin experiments with for a couple weeks and then completely abandons.
