With premium cable’s constant desire to get sex into their shows as a way of setting themselves apart from the basic cable riff raff, it appears Showtime has hit the jackpot with Masters of Sex. The show stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as William Masters and Virginia Johnson, two mid-century researchers in the science of sex. The series is set to premiere on September 29, after which we’ll never look at Wesley Snipes and Janis Ian the same way again.
