David Cross Just Directed His First Movie

David Cross recently finished directing his first movie, a dark indie comedy called Hits, Deadline reports. Cross both wrote and directed the film, which explores fame in the YouTube era, set in a small town in upstate New York. Cross assembled quite an impressive cast for Hits, with Matt Walsh, Meredith Hagner, James Adomian, Derek Waters, Wyatt Cenac and Jake Cherry making up the ensemble cast. Julia Stiles, Michael Cera, Dave Koechner, Amy Sedaris, Erinn Hayes, and Russ Tamblyn also make appearances. Cross is currently developing a series with Showtime about a travel writer leading a double life, and he has a book with Bob Odenkirk out next week that coincides with a mini standup/book tour by the duo.
