What we know about Chappie, the new film from District 9 and Elysium director Neill Blomkamp, is pretty scant so far: It’s “based on a short Blomkamp made titled Tetra Vaal, a fake ad for a robotic police force patrolling the slums of South Africa," Dev Patel will play a man living in one of the slums, and South African District 9 star Sharlto Copley is set to appear as a "ridiculous robot character." Now we have another key detail: Hugh Jackman has just joined the cast “to play the rival of Patel’s character.” Luckily, he has some experience with ridiculous robots.
