Damon Lindelof’s adaptation of Tom Perrotta’s end-times novel The Leftovers now has a series order at HBO, starting with a ten-episode first season. Starring Justin Theroux and Liv Tyler, the story follows the unlucky few who remain stuck on Earth three years after the Rapture. Doctor Who’s Christopher Eccleston and Private Practice’s Amy Brenneman will also appear. Lindelof co-wrote and will play showrunner; Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, Rihanna’s Battleship) directed the pilot.
