Amy Poehler’s Brother Sells Swedish Comedy to NBC

US Greg Poehler poses during a photocall for the TV series "Welcome to Sweden" as part of the Mipcom international audiovisual trade show at the Palais des Festivals, in Cannes, southeastern France, on October 7, 2013.

It appears funniness is genetic, as Amy Poehler's brother, Greg Poehler, has sold the domestic rights to his Swedish comedy series, Welcome to Sweden, to NBC. The show, which features a mixed Swedish and American (namely, Illeana Douglas and Patrick Duffy) cast and cameos from Amy Poehler (who also executive produces), Will Ferrell, and Aubrey Plaza, was Sweden's TV4's first-ever English-language series. The semi-autobiographical show stars Greg as Bruce, a New York accountant who moves to Sweden after falling in love with a Swedish girl, Emma (Josephine Bornebusch). This Emma must really be something, because if Amy Poehler were our sister, we'd want to live as close to her as possible.
