“After much thought and deliberation, I’ve decided t” is how Damon Lindelof’s final, incomplete tweet read. For quite a while now, the TV showrunner and Hollywood screenwriter has had to suffer the slings and arrows of outraged and single-minded fans, who took his every tweet as an opportunity to angrily voice their displeasure at the ending of Lost and the entireties of Prometheus and Star Trek Into Darkness. The recent season finale of Breaking Bad, about which Lindelof wrote several articles, might have been the final straw, with tweeters galore telling Lindelof that was how you ended a show, idiot! Today, he deleted his Twitter account. Was it because of this latest wave of negative attacks? Impossible to say, especially since he has engaged with and retweeted negative replies for years. Maybe he just wanted to focus on his new HBO show, The Leftovers, and didn’t have time to chat with chuckleheads. Regardless, Lindelof has declined to comment. Twitter is likely commenting on his lack of comment.
