Janeane Garofalo may be returning to TV soon. She’s been cast in the pilot for Bravo’s dramedy The Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show will star Lisa Edelstein as a Los Angeles “secretly hiding her separation from her husband” who “begins to side with and take advice more often from her divorced friends rather than her married ones, and it leads her to some unexpected life-changing experiences.” Garofalo will play her friend Lyla, an entertainment lawyer who is described as “real shark.” The show was created by Marti Noxon, known for her work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Mad Men, and Glee.
Garofalo is obviously no stranger to television, having worked on The Ben Stiller Show, Saturday Night Live, and The Larry Sanders Show early in her career. She’s also dabbled in dramas, appearing on The West Wing and 24, and most recently entered the world of Adult Swim with appearances on Delocated and Metalocalypse.
