Tonight’s YouTube Music Awards were certainly a treat for all you Greta Gerwig and Eminem fans out there. (A Venn diagram which is basically just a circle, right?) The Frances Ha star worked it out in Arcade Fire’s Spike Jonze–directed live video for “Afterlife,” punching her way through a sylvan winterscape in a blazer and kicking along with a troupe of wonderful little girl dancers.
Meanwhile Marshall Mathers brought that classic 1,000-yard stare and whisper voice during his performance of “RAP GOD,” a celebration of his selection as the YouTube Music Awards 2013 Artist of the Year. Give the kids what they want, we guess?
