Over a year ago, we learned that Guillermo del Toro was working with Carlton Cuse on a pilot for FX based on The Strain, a trilogy of books del Toro co-wrote. FX announced today that they’ve ordered a thirteen-episode first season of the show that focuses on the outbreak of a vampire virus. Corey Stoll will star as Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, the man tasked with investigating the virus and saving the day. Hopefully, he also owns a fighting robot. And then, the season finale is a giant battle royale between a robot, a vampire, a monster, and anything else lying  on an 8-year-old’s bedroom floor.
