The Brian saga is finally over. After getting hit by a car and killed, probably not being dead, and being rumored to come back on the show, the Griffins’ beloved dog made his Family Guy return on last night’s episode “Christmas Guy.” Thanks to a time machine and some quick thinking by Stewie, Brian’s death-by-car was averted just in time for some sentimental Christmas gratitude, and you can watch a clip from the episode here. The time machine was also an easy way to get rid of the Griffins’ temporary replacement dog Vinny (voiced by The Sopranos’ Tony Sirico), so it looks like we can all rest easy on cartoon dog deaths for now.
