Well, it was Duck Dynasty while it lasted. A day after A+E put Phil Robertson on hiatus from his families' reality show over a homophobic GQ interview, the remaining Robertsons issued a statement in his defense. "While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible," the family explained on their website. Alrighty then. As for the future of DD, the family is going to need Phil back in order to continue filming. "We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right," the statement continues. "We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm." Neither can the 82,000 plus "Faith Driven Consumers" who signed a petition demanding Phil's return. Of course it would be a reality show that finally tears this nation apart.
