Californication will end after its upcoming seventh season, Showtime announced today, though the announcement could also have been “Californication is still on, believe it or not.” The antihero comedy, starring David Duchovny as misanthropic, womanizing author Hank Moody, will return in April for twelve more episodes. Probably Hank will get drunk and have sex with women whose troubles he perceives as laughable, but he will also experience chronic accidental success. That’s just what it is to be Hank Moody! No matter what happens, that guy fails up.
