In case you've forgetten the real reason for the season, Lionsgate has a reminder with news they’ve picked up the screen rights to Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth. Written by Dr. Reza Aslan, this controversial tome explores “Jesus through a fresh set of eyes, examining the era as well as the man and how he, above other prophets of the period, ended up changing the world,” The Hollywood Reporter says. Erik Feig, Lionsgate's president of production, adds that the studio is “excited to create this uniquely cinematic and immersive world for moviegoers to experience.” Depending on how immersive it all gets, there might be hay in the movie theater but no room for you.
