Considering this is the first original project since the Matrix for creators Andy and Lana Wachowski, Jupiter Ascending is a pretty big flipping deal. As is the first trailer, in which we see Channing Tatum’s flesh-colored beard in action, paired with what looks to be quite a bit of eyeliner. Basically, he plays Caine, “an elf-like hero”/”genetically engineered former soldier” who saves Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), even though she was supposed to be killed for threatening the Queen of the Universe with her “perfect genetic makeup.” The trailer also includes Eddie Redmayne declaring “Some lives will always matter more than others,” so it’s safe to say the brother/sister duo haven’t forgotten their dystopian roots.
