After nine seasons of demon-slaying and tanktop-wearing, Supernatural is finally getting a spinoff. The CW has picked up the pilot for Supernatural: Tribes, which will “explore the clashing hunter and monster cultures of Chicago,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. The CW has had decent luck with The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals, so Supernatural seems like an obvious next step. Also getting pilot orders: iZombie, based on the DC comic and adapted by Veronica Mars’s Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero; Jane the Virgin, based on a Venezuelan telenovela; and Identity, a CIA drama based on an Israeli show. Pilot season! Can’t you just feel the magic?
